DENVER — Today, Governor Jared Polis ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff beginning immediately until sunset, July 9, 2022 as a mark of respect for the victims of the acts of violence perpetrated on July 4, 2022 by a gunman at a 4th of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois as proclaimed by President Biden. 

DENVER - Colorado Governor Jared Polis met with President Joe Biden and Democratic governors from across the country about the U.S. Supreme Court’s alarming decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, and discussed ways to prevent criminal prosecution of women and doctors  and protect the personal freedoms and privacy of Americans.

DENVER - The Aerospace States Association (ASA) elected Colorado Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera as the new National Chair and Alaska Lt. Governor Kevin Meyer as Vice Chair of the ASA. Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth concluded his term as ASA National Chair.

​​​​​​​DENVER — Today, Governor Polis and the Department of Local Affairs announced grants to 71 swimming pools across Colorado received much-needed grants to help ensure swimming pools are open and properly staffed in time for the July 4th holiday and for the remainder of the summer months. Last week, Governor Polis announced the Pools Special Initiative 2022, a plan of action to help swimming pools open and expand hours this summer, as pools around the country have faced workforce shortages. 

DENVER — Today, the Polis Administration announced that a series of new laws signed by Gov. Polis to save people money take effect tomorrow, July 1. Continuing to bring real savings to Coloradans, Gov. Polis announced over 100 ways the Polis Administration is saving people money, and many of these measures will bring real relief to Coloradans starting tomorrow. 

DENVER — Today, Governor Polis announced judicial appointments to county and district courts. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis and Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced that, starting on Jan. 1, 2023, Colorado residents can get a $29 Keep Colorado Wild Pass during their annual vehicle registration through the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV).  In March at the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission Meeting, the Commission members passed a $29 price point for the Keep Colorado Wild Pass (KCW Pass) which is less than half the price of the current annual parks pass. 

DENVER – The Polis Administration and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that Prost Brewing Company, a Colorado-based craft brewery, has selected the city of Northglenn for its new headquarters and expansion project, including a showcase production facility, distribution center and world-class biergarten.

DENVER -  Governor Polis issued an Executive Order in response to the Menkhaven Fire in Conejos County. The Governor’s action enables State agencies to coordinate for fire suppression, response, consequence management, and recovery efforts, and makes funding available from the Disaster Emergency Fund (DEF) to support wildfire response and recovery efforts. The Menkhaven Fire is 100% contained as of June 7, 2022. Governor Polis issued an Executive Order amending the funding  for the 2018 Cabin Lake Fire to fund the full extent of repairs incurred by fire damages.
