    Polis Administration Continues to Support Small Businesses in Colorado: OEDIT Awards 56 Access to Capital Grants

    DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and the Business Support division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that 56 grants have been awarded to small businesses in Colorado through the Small Business Accelerated Growth Program. These $5,000 grants will help small business owners across the state, from Morgan County to Alamosa County, implement financial practices that can help them secure loans and other forms of capital to grow their businesses.

    Governor Polis Formalizes Action to Provide Temporary Regulatory Relief due to Suncor's Temporary Shutdown

    DENVER — Governor Polis issued an Executive Order memorializing his December 31, 2022 verbal order declaring a disaster emergency due to fuel supply chain risk, activating the National Guard to assist with planning and logistics, and activating the State Emergency Operations Plan. The disaster declaration enables State agencies to coordinate response and mitigation efforts to minimize any disruption. It also ensures that the State is able to utilize all necessary tools to provide temporary regulatory relief to reduce any potential fuel supply chain risk in Colorado due to the temporary shutdown at the Suncor oil and gas refinery located in Commerce City. Such regulatory relief includes but is not limited to trucking hours, truck weight limits, and streamlined pipeline transporting regulations.

    Polis Administration Continues to Support Workforce Development in the Outdoor Recreation Industry: OREC Announces New Grant 

    DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office (OREC) of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced a new grant program to support continued pandemic recovery among outdoor recreation industry businesses and nonprofits. The Outdoor Recreation Industry Impact Fund (ORIIF) will provide funding to help outdoor recreation industry employers hire and retain staff across the state.

    Promoting Statewide Access to Venture Funding: State Renews Partnership with Greater Colorado Venture Fund to Support Rural Businesses

    DENVER – Today, the Colorado Venture Capital Authority (VCA) and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that the VCA has renewed its partnership with Greater Colorado Venture Fund (GCVF) to expand access to venture capital for Colorado entrepreneurs and startup businesses. The VCA has committed $11,175,000 to GCVF, which has a proven track record of funding Colorado companies and creating jobs in the state’s rural communities.

    2023 Colorado Water Plan Will Inspire Action to Build Stronger Water Future

    DENVER - Today, to meet Colorado’s most critical water challenges, the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) unanimously approved the finalized 2023 Colorado Water Plan. First released in 2015, the Water Plan provides a comprehensive framework to guide collaborative action from water partners, agencies, and Coloradans. From securing supplies that provide safe drinking water to improving farm irrigation to rehabilitating streams—the 2023 Water Plan targets specific, key actions to contribute to a stronger, more water-resilient Colorado.
