    Governor Polis Releases State Budget Proposal

    Gov. Polis Pushes for Key Investments to Restore Major Reductions, Stimulate the Economy & Help Colorado Build Back Stronger, and Save for Colorado’s Future

     

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis released his budget proposal for FY 2021-22, concurrently submitting his budget proposal to the Joint Budget Committee (JBC) of the General Assembly.  Gov. Polis budget makes great strides in confronting Colorado’s most immediate challenges while making critical investments for the future.

    AARP Recognizes Colorado as Model for Addressing COVID-19 in Nursing Homes

    The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) recognized Colorado as a model for addressing the spread of COVID-19 in nursing homes. AARP has launched a new Nursing Home Dashboard with state-by-state data showing Colorado’s progress mitigating spread in long-term care facilities.

    Winter Outdoor Grant Program Application Process for  Restaurants Is Now Open

    Gov. Jared Polis, in partnership with the Colorado Restaurant Association (CRA), the Colorado Restaurant Foundation, and Xcel Energy, announced that applications are open for the  Winter Outdoor Grant Program, which will provide funds to restaurants to winterize patio  space for outdoor dining. In mid-October, Gov. Polis was joined by CRA and restaurateurs  to discuss ways to support local restaurants during the pandemic.

    Governor Polis Opens Fishers Peak State Park

    In September 2019, Governor Polis announced the goal of providing a meaningful level of public access to the Fishers Peak property by 2021. Today, Governor Jared Polis and Colorado Parks and Wildlife achieved that goal by opening the first trailhead at Colorado’s 42nd State Park, providing initial public access to 250 acres of the property via three trails and a public picnic area.
