LITTLETON - Today, Governor Polis visited Chatfield State Park to celebrate its selection by Coloradans as the winner of Colorado’s State Park Bracket. To celebrate Colorado’s 42 state parks, Governor Polis hosted a bracket where Coloradans voted on their favorite. The finalists came down to Golden Gate Canyon State Park and Chatfield State Park, and Coloradans chose Chatfield by a narrow margin. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis signed new laws to improve public safety in Colorado and strengthen the state’s workforce. The Governor signed SB25-003 - Semiautomatic Firearms & Rapid-Fire Devices, sponsored by Senators Tom Sullivan and Julie Gonzales, and Representatives Andrew Boesnecker and Meg Froelich, to improve public safety by enhancing gun safety education. The Governor also wrote a signing statement. 

DENVER - In a special ceremony on Thursday, Colorado Education Commissioner Susana Córdova and Governor Jared Polis awarded the state’s first-ever Purple Star School designation to 27 schools from eight school districts and the Charter School Institute. The Purple Star School designation recognizes school communities for their work to support military-connected students and their families. 

DENVER – Earlier today, Governor Polis signed HB25-1005 - Tax Incentive for Film Festivals - sponsored by Representatives Monica Duran and Brianna Titone, and Senators Judy Amabile and Mark Baisley. This legislation supports Colorado’s thriving film festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival which recently announced it would be moving to Boulder beginning in 2027. 

DENVER - Last month, Governor Polis, the Sundance Institute, Visit Boulder, and others announced that Colorado was selected to be the new home of the Sundance Film Festival starting in 2027.
