DURANGO – Fort Lewis College and the Office of Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera partnered to host a special early screening of the Lt. Governor’s new documentary, A Colorado for All: A Legacy of Accessibility. The film, which premiered in late July as part of Colorado’s 250/150 celebration, explores the state’s rich history of disability rights and the leaders who paved the way for greater inclusion.

The screening, held at Fort Lewis College’s Student Union, brought together disability advocates, Tribal Council members, community leaders, students, and faculty for a meaningful evening of storytelling and reflection. Following the film, Lt. Governor Primavera joined Interim Vice President of Diversity Affairs at FLC Kendra Gallegos Reichle for a candid Q&A that highlighted her lifelong commitment to accessibility and equity.

“Colorado has a proud legacy of leadership in the disability rights movement,” said Lt. Governor Primavera. “This documentary not only honors that history, but also challenges us to carry forward the work of building a state where every person can thrive.”

The event marked the first campus screening of the documentary. In the months ahead, Lt. Governor Primavera plans to share it with colleges and universities across Colorado, with broader public screenings — through broadcast and online platforms — anticipated in early 2026.

“Bringing this conversation to Fort Lewis College created space for our students and community members to learn from the past while engaging directly with leaders shaping Colorado’s future,” said FLC President Heather Shotton. “We are honored to be part of this important conversation.”

The documentary highlights Colorado’s contributions to the national disability rights movement, including stories of activists whose work helped transform accessibility standards nationwide.
